A Clare man who was stuck in Dubai following the outbreak of conflict in the Middle East says he felt ‘perfectly safe’ while in the United Arab Emirates.
Sean Ruane from Ennis was onboard the first repatriation flight which arrived in Dublin this week, having been caught in Dubai on a work trip when war broke out.

A second flight from the UAE touched down in Dublin overnight, while a seat on a chartered flight from Oman later today is expected to cost passengers €800.
Sean says while he was fortunate to get a seat home, the price point may prevent those coming to the end of holidays from being able to do the same.
