Clare Lobby Group Claims CETA Drawbacks Outweigh Its Benefits

A Clare lobby group is claiming the proposed EU trade deal with Canada will not help smaller businesses in this county.

TDs will decide whether to ratify the deal in a Dáil vote in January, with disputes now emerging, particularly among some Green Party members who are concerned about environmental issues and other provisions of the deal.

The agreement requires the backing of EU member states, including Ireland, and John Higgins, of No CETA Clare, believes the deal, as it stands, should not be accepted here.
