A North Clare lawyer says she felt “compelled” to join a humanitarian aid delivery effort to Gaza after watching states and other actors fail to prevent “needless death” in the enclave.
Ennistymon native Leigh Brosnan is aboard the independent legal support boat of the Global Sumud Flotilla which is carrying activists from 44 countries who are attempting to break the Israeli naval blockade of the Palestinian territory.

The flotilla began sailing out of Tunisia on Sunday less than a week after its main ship was struck by a drone followed by an attack on another boat in the fleet.
Leigh claims the majority of people participating in the effort are doing so to fight a sense of powerlessness.
