Clare JPC Chair Believes Hiring Garda Clerical Staff Key To Strengthening Roads Policing

The Chair of Clare’s Joint Policing Committee believes freeing up Gardaí from paperwork will be key to strengthening roads policing.

With six people having lost their lives on the roads in this county so far this year, new analysis has found that the number of Gardaí assigned to roads policing is at its lowest level in six years.

Meanwhile, Gardaí have recently launched a recruitment campaign to fill 400 clerical jobs as a means of relieving pressure on on-the-beat Gardaí.
