The Clare branch of the IFA says prolonged fuel cuts will be essential to keep farms from going under.
The government has voted to extend the Diesel Rebate Scheme and excise duty cuts until September at least.

In response to measures announced following April’s fuel protests, the coalition announced a scheme that would reimburse 20% of farmer’s agri-diesel bills over a five month period.
Clare IFA Chair and Feakle Farmer Stephen Walsh says it’s vital strong supports remain in place as the sector cannot absorb the costs.
