Clare IFA Chair Says CAP Town Hall Meetings Are ‘Showmanship’ From Department

Clare’s IFA Chair has accused the Department of Agriculture of ‘showmanship’ as they continue outlining the long term ambitions of CAP.

‘Town hall’ style meetings between Department officials and farmers began this week, with representatives concerned that only written questions have been permitted.

It’s understood the majority of farmers will benefit from a further redistribution of payments, but those in the dairy and tillage sectors may be adversely affected.
