Clare householders asked to dispose of Xmas trees responsibly

Now that Santa has been and gone, Clare residents are being urged to ensure they dispose of their Christmas trees responsibly.

Clare County Council is offering a free collection in many parts of the county in the coming days, while a drop-off service will also be on offer in Ennis and Inagh

The council’s free tree collection service begins tomorrow, Monday January 7th when trucks will travel on seperate routees in West and East Clare.

In West Clare – trees will be collected at various locations starting at the community centre in Kildysart at 8.30, then onto Kilkee, Kilrush, Doonbeg and Cooraclare in the afternoon.

A seperate crew will also travel from The Square in Killaloe at 10 o’clock tomorrow, before heading to Scariff, Tulla and then Kilkishen.

On Tuesday trees will be collected in Shannon in the morning , then onto Sixmilebridge and Newmarket on Fergus.

Then on Wednesday – the collection point moves to Miltown Malbay, Lahinch, Ennistymon and Kilfenora to the north and Westbury, Parteen, Clonlara and O’Briensbridge in South East Clare.

Meanwhile, a drop off arrangement is already in place at the Gardening Centre, Cois na h’Abhna, Gort Road, Ennis  with a similar plan arrangement in Inagh starting tomorrow.
