Clare hauliers are calling on landowners and local authorities to trim hedges and overgrown trees as a matter of urgency.
They say overhanging branches and unkempt hedges are causing a safety issue on national and regional routes across the county.

Under wildlife legislation, it is illegal to destroy vegetation from March to August but hauliers fear if they are not cut back in the coming weeks, then they will be neglected until next year.
Bunratty’s Eoin Gavin is President of the Irish Road Hauliers Association – he says this is of great concern to drivers.
