Almost €70,000 has been awarded to Clare organisations for the purpose of promoting forestry.
The Department of Agriculture has announced €1.53 million will go to 48 projects nationwide following an open call for proposals for forestry promotion projects.

Ennistymon-based environmental organisation Hometree has been given over €55,000 for its ‘Empowering Action for Woodlands’ initiative.
The Woodland League in Feakle meanwhile has been allocated €12,400 for ‘Farms and Forestry’ which is aimed at “striking the balance for nature and enterprise with agroforestry and continuous cover forestry”.
It brings the county’s total to just over €67,400.
