Clare FM has secured four nominations for the most prestigious awards in Irish Radio.
The shortlist for the IMRO Radio Awards has been announced today, with one of the largest volumes of entries in the history of the event, underlining the continued strength, relevance and ambition of Irish radio.
Entries for this year’s IMRO Radio Awards came from across the full breadth of the sector, including national, regional, local, public service and commercial stations.
The shortlisted entries were selected by an independent judging panel, who reviewed entries from across the island of Ireland.
This year, Clare FM’s flagship current affairs programme, Morning Focus, has been nominated in the Local/Regional Current Affairs Programme category.
The Hidden Disability, a radio documentary which explores Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), and its lifelong impact on individuals and families, was produced by Clare FM’s Programme Director Padraic Flaherty and has been nominated in the Documentary category.
Beauty or Beast, a radio documentary focusing on the Púca coming to Ennistymon and eventually moving to Carron, also produced by Padraic Flaherty, has been shortlisted in the Music, Arts & Culture Documentary category.
Clare FM is also in the running for Local Station of the Year.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny on October 2nd.
