Clare Drivers Among Most Likely To Receive Penalty Points

Clare drivers are among the most likely in Ireland to have penalty points.

New figures released to Sinn Féin TD Peadar Tóibín by the Road Safety Authority, show that 22.3% of drivers here currently have penalty points.

This is the sixth highest of any county in Ireland, and less than 1% behind the highest rates which have been recorded in Wexford.

Deputy Tóibín says Clare is bucking the national trend but he doesn’t believe the penalty point system is being utilised properly by the state.
