Clare’s County Dog Warden is reminding people of the illegality of hunting hare coursing without a licence in light of a recent incident in Clarecastle.

The incident, which involved two cars, several vans and a number of lurchers, took place in the region outside the village of Clarecastle known as the Slobs.

The lurchers were let loose in a privately-owned field which caused significant distress to cattle before Gardaí arrived on the scene.
