Pat O’Gorman is to be officially co-opted onto Clare County Council as the newest local representative in the county today.

The former Mayor of Clare, from Cratloe, was elected to replace Meelick’s Cathal Crowe, who was elevated to the Dáil at this month’s general election, at a selection convention last night.

A special meeting of Clare County Council is being held this afternoon in which the decision will be officially ratified by the local authority.
