Council CEO Hails Momentous Day For Clare Tourism

The Chief Executive of Clare County Council has described the transfer of Shannon Heritage sites to the local authority as a “momentous day” for the tourism sector in the region.

During a special meeting at Áras Contae an Chláir, Councillors voted unanimously to support the transfer of Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Craggaunowen, Knappogue Castle and the Cliffs of Moher gift shop from Shannon Airport Group to the local authority.

The official transfer of the Clare-based staff and visitor attractions will take place shortly, following the conclusion of ongoing discussions between the Council, Shannon Airport Group and Department of Transport officials.
