Clare Councillors have heard calls for An Bord Pleanala to be ‘dismantled’.

Frustration is growing with elected representatives on the ongoing appeals on projects such as Blake’s Corner in Ennistymon, a planned plaza for Ennis and other works.

The normal waiting time for an appeal with Ireland’s national independent planning body is four months.

However, Ennis-based Fianna Fail Councillor Pat Daly believes An Bord Pleanala now needs to ‘get its act together’ in respect of a number of local projects.
