Clare County Council Accused Of Double Standards

Clare County Council is being accused of double standards when it comes to the maintanance of council-owned properties.

The Chair of the local authority's Housing Committee says some people are waiting years for essential improvement works to be carried out on their heating, windows and doors.

Councillor Gerry Flynn says that the county is not only suffering with a housing shortage but is now faced with a crisis relating to people living in sub-standard local authority housing.

A lack of funding is being blamed for the delay but the Shannon Independent Councillor Flynn says that's not good enough.
