A new report from the Western Development Commission highlights opportunities to boost tourism, enterprise, talent attraction and international links.

The Connected Communities, Global Relationships report notes that much of the current engagement is being driven by community groups and volunteers without dedicated resources or long-term support structures.

Dr Aisling Moroney, of Western Development Commission, lead researcher on the project says the case study of the Kilrush and District Historical Society demonstrates strong grassroots efforts to attract people back to the region and strengthen international links.
