Community groups across Clare are encouraged to avail of a new scheme to ‘take meaningful environmental action’ at their next local event.
It follows the launch of the ‘Circular Cups for Community Events’ initiative by Minister Alan Dillon, which aims eliminate single-use waste at non-profit community events.

At present, over 200 million single use cups are disposed of annually in Ireland and the cups provided by the scheme can be reused up to 300 times.
Clare County Council’s Environmental Awareness Officer, Karen Foley, says the initiative offers a climate friendly option that otherwise wouldn’t be possible.
