Clare County Council is reassuring motorists that roads in the county were treated overnight.
It comes as five road traffic accidents were reported on the Kilrush Road near Lisseycasey this morning, with conditions being described as treacherous.

Roads were salted on two occasions last night and in the early hours of this morning but motorists are being advised to exercise extreme caution this weeks as the cold snap continues.
Senior Engineer with Clare County Council Tom Tiernan says the rain overnight diluted the salt and reduced the effectiveness of the treatment.
