Clare Christian Brother family seek inquiry into PrimeTime Programme

 

The family of a Clare Christian Brother, accused of abusing boys by the RTE PrimeTime Investigates Programme are expected to continue lobbying the Communications Minister for an inquiry into the case this week.

Brother Gerard Dillon from Clarecastle was accused of abuse in the same controversial programme in which Galway Priest Father Kevin Reynolds was defamed last year and Minister Pat Rabbitte has said he’ll consider the Dillon family’s repeated calls for a review by the Broadcasting Authority.

Brother Dillon died in 2005, but in last years Mission to Prey Programme, RTE interviewed South African man Tyrone Selmon who insists he was abused by the Clarecastle Native.

In an interview on Clare FM’s Morning Focus today, Gerard Dillon’s Grand-niece Amanda said her family doesn’t accept his claims.
