Clare Business Owners Say Online Services Driving More People To Local Stores

A Clare business owner insists increased online sales haven’t impacted negatively on local stores.

It follows a new report, which has highlighted the threat the Omicron variant is posing to locally owned high-street stores, as people become more cautious about physical shopping.

But Gwen Culligan of the County Boutique says last week in particular was a bumper week for sales, with local stores receiving considerable support from people living locally.

She says that while online sales have doubled on last year, improved online services are also driving people to local stores.
