Clare Auctioneer Believes Budget 2024 Offers Little To No Incentive For Landlords

A Clare Auctioneer believes there are little to no incentives for smaller landlords to remain in the market after budget 2024.

Last year, over 21,000 tenancies ended prematurely as a result of proprietors selling up and leaving the sector.

The government has now announced a new tax relief for landlords, which will see rental income of 3000 euro disregarded in 2024, 4000 euro in 2025, and 5000 in 2026 and 2027, provided they commit to staying in the market for four years.

However, Diarmuid McMahon of Sherry Fitzgerald McMahon Real Estate Agents in Ennis says the measure is not substantial enough.
