The Clare branch of Aontú is calling for a double no vote in the upcoming referenda, as they claim the proposed constitutional amendments will have no practical impact on daily life.
On March 8th, voters will be asked to replace the reference to a women’s place of work being in the home, with a recognition of family carers instead.
The second vote involves broadening the definition of family to recognise their foundation on durable relationships as well as marriages.
Aontú MidWest PRO Eric Nelligan believes these amendments would create more problems than solutions.
