Clare Animal Welfare is warning pet owners to leave their animals inside the house during trick or treating and fireworks.
Research from Dog’s Trust Ireland found 54% of dog owners are anxious that their pets may be stressed out or even run away due to loud fireworks this Halloween.

The figures also show that over two thirds of dogs showed signs of fear when they heard fireworks going off.
Director and Treasurer of Clare Animal Welfare, Stiofan Mac Gabhann says the large crowds and noises could cause the nightmare of a pet running away.
