The Clare Branch of St Vincent DePaul says more and parents in this county are seeking help to cover the cost of sending children to school.
Niamh McDonnell is responding to a proposal by the Labour party, which says some parents are being forced to turn to money lenders to meet increasing costs.

The party has called for a school books to be made free to all children at a cost to the state of about 40 million euro, while it also wants to see voluntary contributions done away with.
