It’s claimed Bus Éireann is “robbing Peter to pay Paul” to provide school transport in Clare.
The Minister for Education Norma Foley has brought a review of the school transport scheme to the Government which proposed changes to broaden the eligibility criteria.
With the cancellation of several bus routes seen in Clare earlier this year, Killaloe Councillor Tony O’Brien has called for the suspension of the tendering of 20% of existing school transport routes until all new routes for the coming year are filled.
