Concern As COVID-19 Is Confirmed In Belarus Facilities Supported By Burren Chernobyl Project

The founder of the Burren Chernobyl Project is expressing concern about the spread of COVID-19 in the orphanages and hospitals they’ve supported in Belarus.

Dozens of children and adults have been confirmed to have caught the virus – in a range of institutions supported by the North Clare-based charity.

Its founder, Brother Liam O’Meara, insists they’ll continue their support of the children during this public health crisis, and already personal protective equipment was part of the shipment sent to the Chernobyl region in January.
