Carey Calls For Prudence In Budget

A Clare Fine Gael TD insists an element of prudence will be needed as they enter Budget talks.

It comes as the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council has called on the party not to over-spend in the Budget, saying it’s crucial that any extras are funded by tax hikes.

The Taoiseach, meanwhile, is insisting that Ireland’s not heading for another crash while suggesting the SSIA savings scheme could be resurrected.
