Calls have been made for the provision of funding for transport to social outlets in rural parts of Clare.
Councillor PJ Ryan has raised concern that a reduction in the drink-driving limit will result in more people in rural areas becoming isolated.
While he doesn’t in any way condone driving under the influence, he believes more people will be encouraged to socialise if the current legal alcohol limit is maintained.
