Clare Councillors have called on the local authority to engage with the HSE and Brothers of Charity to ensure that day services and respite care for users is fully restored.

Respite services were closed in March on the back of public health advice, but have not yet been fully restored, even though that is permitted under all levels of COVID restrictions.

The Brothers of Charity says day services have been restored to three days a week in most cases, but that in order to increase capacity to five days a week, an application for funding would have to be approved.
