Calls For Regulation Of Clothing Banks In Clare

Calls have been made for bye-laws to be put in place to regulate the use of clothing banks in Clare.

Sixmilebridge Councillor Alan O'Callaghan says gangs are forcing children as young as five to climb into the banks in order to take clothing from them and sell off elsewhere.

He says the banks are a danger to the children involved and attract unwanted criminal activity into the community.

Councillor O'Callaghan is calling for clothing banks to be banned completely.
