There’s a push for the timescale for the completion of works relating to the Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant to be extended due to the scarcity of workers.
O’Callaghan’s Mills Fine Gael Councillor Conor Ryan wants those availing of the grant to have 18 months to finish renovations – up from the current 13.

A total of €31.5 million in funding has been approved by Clare County Council under the grant to date, enabling works on 534 properties countywide.
Councillor Ryan says the tight timeframe is putting pressure on people.
