It’s hoped a derelict building in the heart of Ennis can become an interpretative centre promoting one of the town’s most prominent green spaces.
It comes as the Hands Off Ennis Post Office Field group has made a formal submission to the council, requesting that any proposals to develop on the site are removed from the next county development plan.

The group is also calling for the vacant Analogue building on Bank Place to be acquired by the local authority and repurposed as a visitor centre for the field.
Spokesperson and Clarecastle Sinn Féin Councillor Tommy Guilfoyle believes it would be a major tourism boost.
