A Clare executive member of the NBRU is calling for the establishment of a transport policing unit to tackle the issue of assaults on staff.
It follows the union’s call to protect the incomes of Bus Éireann drivers who are currently on sick leave after being assaulted.
In the past few months alone, seven attacks have been recorded.
