Call For Financial Scheme To Help Rural Shops In Clare Open

Calls are being made for a financial support scheme to be set up to help open shops in rural parts of Clare.

The idea has been put forward by Fianna Fáil Councillor PJ Kelly who insists it would support the long-term survival of rural communities.

The local authority has pointed to its Long Term Vacant Property Incentive Scheme which provides financial incentives to re-open closed down buildings as playing a part in this.
