Caitríona Lucas Challenge Comes To Successful End In Clare

The late Doolin Coast Guard volunteer Caitríona Lucas has been remembered today as a challenge in her memory came to an end.

Four volunteers, including Caitríona’s husband Bernard Lucas, climbed the high points of each of the 32 counties of Ireland over the past ten days – put together they would be twice the height of Mount Everest.

The Challenge, which was also completed by Deirdre Linnane, Gwenn Frinn and Michael Healy, came to an end today at Clare’s highest peak, Moylussa, on what would have been Caitríona’s birthday.

The group were joined there by other climbers who supported them, and their efforts have seen them raise thousands of euro for their chosen charity, Friends of Ennistymon Hospital.
