A demonstration is to be held at Clare County Council's December meeting by businesses angered by the local authority's plans to hike rates charges.
Ennis Chamber and Ennis Development Forum have called for a Day of Action on December 14th, following the rates increase contained in the local authority's 2016 budget.

They're also inviting their colleagues from Kilrush to join them, as businesses in both areas face a rates increase next year.
Clare County Council has also announced a rates incentive scheme, and says the rises in Ennis and Kilrush will be minimised as a result.
