Ennis Hotelier Admits Finding More Rooms For Ukrainian Refugees Will Be ‘Challenging’

The Chair of the Clare Tourism Advisory Forum admits continuing to find hotel rooms for Ukrainian refugees will be ‘challenging’ for the industry.

It comes as the Government is calling on appropriate accommodation owners to submit expressions of interest to house refugees.

The Department dealing with Children, Equality and Integration says it wants to hear from owners of hotels, guest houses and hostels to accommodate persons seeking international protection for a period of 26 weeks.

Figures released earlier this month estimated that of the more than 2,500 Ukrainians now based in Clare, nearly 9 in 10 of those are based in hotels.
