Ennis Haulier Insists Any Easing Of Northern Ireland Protocol Needs To Apply To Republic Too

The Ennis-based President of the Irish Road Haulage Association insists that any easing in the regulations of the protocol in Northern Ireland needs to apply to the south too.

British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss confirmed yesterday that her Government will introduce legislation to change the Northern Ireland Protocol in the coming weeks.

The Bill will see separate ‘green’ and ‘red lanes for goods travelling between the North and the UK, with those staying within the union set to be excluded from EU-level checks.
