A member of the Burren Ecotourism Network has described a prestigious national award as public acknowledgement of the hard work by those involved over the past decade.
The Network has picked up the Irish Independent’s ‘Green Light’ award for sustainability in this year’s ‘Reader Travel Awards’, as it continues to establish the Burren as a premier internationally-recognised sustainable tourism region.
Some of the group’s award winning initiatives include community clean-ups, along with each business giving out tote bags that can be filled with rubbish found by guests and tourists out exploring.
