Man Dies Following Limerick Assault

A man his died following an assault in Limerick city last night.

It happened after 10 o’clock last night on Parnell Street.

Gardai attended the scene at Parnell Street in Limerick City at around 25 past 10 last night.

There they found a man in his 40s with serious injuries.

He was taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment where he later passed away.

The scene is currently preserved pending a technical examination, and the Office of the State Pathologist has been notified.

A post mortem is due to be carried out later today.

Gardai are appealing for anyone who was in the Parnell Street, Lord Edward Street and Davis Street areas of Limerick city last night, between 10 and 10:40pm, who may have camera footage to make it available to investigating gardai.

They’re also appealing to any drivers to make any dashcam footage of the area available to them.
