Blow For Mid-West As Shannon To Chicago Route Pulled

Shannon Airport has been dealt a blow with news that United Airlines will cease its Chicago service next year.

It’s the second cutback implemented by the carrier at Shannon in recent months, having already suspended its Newark service for the winter months.

The news comes just weeks after the addition of a direct route to Toronto with Air Canada – and at a time when the airport has the highest number of transatlantic flights in 17 years.
