Clare TD Questions Legality Of Ongoing Travel Restrictions With EU Countries

Clare’s Independent TD is questioning the legality of Ireland maintaining ongoing travel restrictions against other countries in the European Union.

It’s after Tanaiste Leo Varadkar has hinted that the Common Travel Area with the UK could be resumed before free movement within the EU.

It’s led to fears that Shannon Airport may suffer disproportionately as air travel resumes, with suggestions that transatlantic travel to the US may be one of the last routes to get back to pre-pandemic levels.
