Clare County Council has allocated €10,000 towards the latest round of its annual Hedge Cutting Grant Scheme.
The money will facilitate landowners and community groups in maintaining hedgerows throughout Clare.

A grant of €50 per kilometre will be paid, once necessary conditions are met, and it’s hoped that the maintenance of the hedges will lead to safer roads in the areas concerned.
Applications are being invited up until the end of October and John Corry from the transport section of Clare County Council says it’s important opportunity for land owners.
