Gardaí are appealing for information following a hit and run in Newmarket on Fergus in which a female cyclist was injured.
The incident happened on the old Quin Road at Granahan Moor at around 5 pm last Friday when the cyclist was knocked from her bike by an unsecured load of timber on the rear of a pick up truck heading in the opposite direction

She suffered a broken collar bone and wrist and is currently being treated in hospital.
Gardaí believe the driver of the pick up who continued in the direction of Fenloe may not have realised that he had hit the cyclist and are appealing for him to come forward.
