The Homeless report for November shows that 674 adults and 302 children were living in emergency accommodation in the MidWest.

It’s the highest amount recorded across Clare and Limerick in 2025, with 976 people in total living in hotels, B&Bs and other temporary shelters.

Although a breakdown of children isn’t available on a county-by-county basis, it is for Adults and it shows that 98 were recorded as homeless in Clare at the end of the month, marking an increase of 34% since October alone.

Of the MidWest’s homeless population, more than half are aged between 25 and 44, with just ten over the age of 65.

Additionally, 72% of those in emergency accommodation in the region have Irish citizenship, while 15% are from outside the EU and the UK.
