Running until March 7th this year, Local Enterprise Week is being held by all 31 Local Enterprise Offices nationwide, all of which will offer a full programme of events geared towards small businesses and start-ups.

At these events, advice will be available on key areas such as financial skills, raising funds, exporting, boosting your business online, sustainability and digitalisation.

Among those involved in the programme in Clare this week are entrepreneur Sharon Keegan who will speak at a Women in Business event as well as Joe Leddin of Midwest Regional Skills.

With US President Donald Trump pledging to place 25% tariffs on all imports from the EU in the near future, many companies here have expressed apprehension around expanding across the Atlantic.

Head of Enterprise at Clare’s Local Enterprise Office, Padraic McElwee says it’s important for businesses to get in touch to get a sense of the “mood music” overseas.

One company which has derived great success from its relationship with the LEO is Great Visitor Experience; a Clare-based tourism technology company which has developed an AI-powered tourism itinerary platform that provides a comprehensive overview of the region.

This allows potential visitors to plan, organise and book their trip with ease.

Great Visitor Experiences CEO and Founder Ivan Tuohy says with the support of the Local Enterprise Office, the company is now on the verge of establishing itself in the US.
