Admissions For Covid-19 Jumps At Region’s Main Hospital

The number of patients being treated for Covid-19 at University Hospital Limerick have jumped since the weekend.

The latest figures from the HSE show 6 patients were being treated for the virus there last night, up from 2 on Sunday, while the number in intensive care has risen from 1 to 2.

This is still well behind levels which had been seen in recent weeks, however.

Seven more patients are being tested for suspect cases of COVID-19 at the Dooradoyle facility, while the figures also show there is now only one vacant critical care bed there.
