The Shannon-based President of Active Retirement is welcoming a move to scrap the ‘living alone’ condition for the Seniors Alert Scheme.
Up until now, only those over 65 who live alone could apply for the personal monitored alarm devices.

Pensioners are means tested and those who qualify can have the alarms for free for 12 months, while it’s €65 a year thereafter.
