96 On Trolleys At University Hospital Limerick Today

There has been another sharp rise in the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital today.

The latest INMO figures show 96 patients were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning with 56 in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure represents one quarter of all the patients waiting for beds at hospitals across the country.

University Hospital Galway is the second busiest hospital in the country, where 52 patients were on trolleys this morning.
